A little boy named Andy loves to be in his room, playing with his toys, especially his cowboy. But, what do the toys do when Andy is not with them? They come to life. The cowboy believes that his life as a toy is good. 

However, on his birthday, Andy's mother gives him a modern new toy, an action figure who is an astronaut and quickly becomes Andy's new favorite toy. 

The cowboy and the astronaut become friends and have many adventures together..

A group of aliens visit earth and one of them is lost and left behind on our planet. The alien is found by a 10 year old boy. Soon the two begin to communicate, and start a different kind of friendship in which the alien learns about life on earth and the boy learns about the true meaning of friendship. But the alien wants to go home, but if the boy helps him, he will lose a friend.
